The scope of this remediation is one singular WordPress website. If you have multiple sites or applications installed in the same hosting account, we will provide an estimate for inclusion or guide you in separating the singular site.

We cannot effectively clean one site on your server if all the others are infected. Cross-site contamination will lead to all sites infecting one another.

We are so confident in our ability to find and identify potential issues with your security posture that we offer a guarantee that if your site is re-hacked within 90 days and you’ve followed all of our recommendations, we will clean it again for free.

If work has not yet been performed to remediate your site, we will issue a full refund if requested.

Usually no. For most instances, downtime during cleanup is usually limited to less than a few minutes. If your site’s malware infection is causing harm to users (i.e., if your site is redirecting users to malware or skimming credit card numbers), it might be advantageous to take the site offline until the offending malware can be removed and the site’s integrity secured. We will consult with you for a risk assessment prior to taking action.

We do our best to avoid loss of site functionality due to cleanup, which is sometimes inevitable. Often malware overwrites code that is essential to the function of the site. We keep you informed at every step of the process so that you’re aware of potential issues.

Backups are always taken of site files and database and cleanup happens off of your server.

Upon completion of remediation, we will supply a list of updates and security steps you must take to protect your site. Upon receipt of these recommendations, we expect you to take steps to secure the site, including changing passwords and updating plugins, themes, and WordPress core. We do not perform updates unless there is a significant vulnerability requiring protection.
